Let's Get Started With the Basics of Windmill Pitching "For the Younger Pitcher"

Let's Get Started With the Basics of Windmill Pitching - Click image to enlargeThis DVD is loaded with drills for the young beginner, intermediate and advanced pitcher. It is like having two DVDs for the price of one. Morgan and Megan demonstrate the proper mechanics to have a good fastball. You want to start with establishing correct muscle memory. This will ensure that you are headed in the right direction. Pitching requires PATIENCE. Parents, you will be chasing balls for several weeks until your daughter's muscle memory and mechanics improve. The best pitchers have different styles; however, they all have one thing in common, they are consistent. Every pitcher has their own personality and style, so be yourself. I would suggest you find a pitching coach in which you have confidence. New pitchers MUST practice a minimum of four days a week. You should see improvement with every practice session. You want to work smarter, not harder. "Practice and commitment make the difference!"

The Change Up "For the Younger Pitcher"

The Change Up - Click image to enlargeThis DVD is unique because it utilizes six pitchers. All six of the pitchers will pitch one or more change up pitches. They will throw several different stiff wrist change ups, open hand change ups and the flip change. It is my opinion that all pitchers should have two good change ups and a good off speed drop ball. Young pitchers normally do not have good change ups, simply because it is not pitched enough in practice; there is too much interest in "SPEED." I recommend pitchers have one day a week to alternately throw the fastball and change up for 45 minutes, This will make a tremendous difference in their change up mechanics. When thrown correctly a good change up will not only intimidate a batter, but it also puts the pitcher in control of the game. Remember "Practice and commitment make the difference!"

The Rise Ball "For the Younger Pitcher"

The Rise Ball - Click to enlarge imageChelsea has been pitching the rise ball for over a year; still, her pitching mechanics continue to improve. The DVD is full of drills for the beginner, intermediate and advanced pitcher in addition to instructions and demonstrations for pitching the rise ball. The rise ball has been known by many different names; however, it still remains the hardest pitch to master. The rise ball must move through the power zone. The power zone is the chest area for most hitters. If the rise ball does not jump, the batter can, and will hit the ball. The rise ball when thrown properly does rise as it approaches the hitter. Practice and commitment make the difference.

The Curve and Screw Ball "For The Younger Pitcher"

The Curve and Screw Ball - Click to enlarge image

This DVD isn’t just for the beginner or intermediate pitcher… it’s for ALL pitchers.

Chelsea demonstrates how to correctly pitch the screw ball and curve ball; and, she also demonstrates drills for pitchers of all experience levels.

In this DVD you will discover how simple and easy it is to do drills inside, in a relatively small area, that will maintain your spin, speed, and mechanics on the ball during the winter months. All that is needed is a bucket of balls.

The Drop Ball "For The Younger Pitcher"

I hope this DVD will inspire younger girls to get more involved in fast pitch softball, especially the pitching side of the game. The pitchers in this DVD, Kelsey and Cassie, have a combined experience level of three years! You, too, can be at this level of pitching if you make a commitment to work hard and practice, practice, practice. Always strive to be better today than yesterday, practice and commitment make the difference.

The Triple Pitch

The Triple Pitch - Click to enlarge imageI've always had the desire to come up with an original pitch.  One night after pitching practice was over, I stayed in the pitching room and started throwing the ball into the back stop, trying to watch the ball as I released it. Anyone who has done this knows how difficult it is to pitch and watch the ball at the same time. I experimented with different grips, and after pitching into the back stop for several weeks I saw that I had come up with something "new." After pitching this "new" pitch a few times myself I asked one of the MSU pitchers and one of the catchers to stay after practice and pitch the pitch so I could see what it was really doing. After the first throw the catcher said "what was that?" The rest is history.
